Provincial youth championship
In cooperation with the chess league Vlaams-Brabant, the Dolle Toren organizes the youth championship of the province of Vlaams-Brabant.

Registration fee
Free participation for players who are primary members of a club affiliated with the Flemish Brabant Chess Federation.

Everyone plays against peers in the -8, -10, -12, -14, -16, -18, and -20 age categories. The SVB Championship uses a special format because it serves as a qualifying tournament for the 2027 Flemish Championships. This means that you may reach the maximum age for the category in 2027. For clarity, an overview is provided above.
If there are enough participants, there will be a -6 category, and we will also award a prize to the winner in each birth year.
Registration begins at 9:30 a.m. and ends no later than 10:00 a.m., and the event concludes with the awards ceremony at 5:00 p.m. You can find the remaining details in the schedules below.
The Flemish Youth Championships will take place in 2027. Based on the results of the Flemish Brabant Youth Championship, players can qualify to participate in these championships by category. The SVB youth director MAY award a number of wild cards, provided that a request is submitted in a timely manner. Participation in European Championships, World Championships, or Belgian international matches may support such a request.

No later than Monday, October 26 (this is truly the last day): preferably online here: SVB (De Dolle Toren – Leuven Youth Chess) Please include your first and last name, year of birth, gender, club, membership number, and, if applicable, your national Elo rating. Please do not register more than once.
